Marriage, Birth & Death Certificates

Vital Statistics services offered at Banff Registries include ordering birth, marriage or death certificates. You will need to present one piece of valid identification in person at our office, such as a driver’s licence, passport, birth certificate, Permanent Resident Card, or Canadian Citizenship Card.

There are two options for receiving your certificate:

• Have it mailed directly to your home at no additional delivery fee.
• Pay a $20 delivery fee and have it delivered to Banff Registry for pickup at our office.

With no amendments required, certificates are sent by the government through regular Canada Post service and typically arrive within 1–2 weeks. Choosing the $20 office delivery option can save approximately two business days.

If amendments are required, processing can take approximately 3–4 months. In some cases, the process may be expedited if you can provide documentation showing that a rush is required, such as a plane ticket or travel itinerary.
